Download Software
You can obtain the installation package in either of the following ways:
Direct download:
Visit the Percipio Official Website, select Software Platform in the left navigation menu, and download the RobotVisionSuite_Windows or RobotVisionSuite_Linux installation package.
Install Software
Extract the downloaded installation package
RobotVisionSuite.zipto your target location.Double-click the extracted
RobotVisionSuite.exefile.Note
If an older version of RVS 2.0 is already installed on your system, the installation package will prompt whether to uninstall the old version. Select
Yesto automatically uninstall the old version and continue installation, or selectNoto cancel.Attention
To avoid data loss, back up important files in the old installation directory before proceeding.
Select a destination folder where you want to install the software, and click
Next.Note
Make sure the selected location has at least the required free disk space.
In the Select Start Menu Folder step,
RobotVisionSuiteis selected by default. To change it, clickBrowse...to select another folder. If no change is needed, clickNext.In the Select Additional Tasks step, if you want to launch the software quickly from the desktop, check “Create Desktop Shortcut”, then click
Next.In the Ready to Install step, confirm the settings, then click
Installto start installation.After installation completes, the Completing the RobotVisionSuite Setup Wizard dialog appears.
“Launch RobotVisionSuite” is checked by default. Click
Finishto launch RVS 2.0 automatically.If you want to launch the software later, uncheck this option, then click
Finish.
Extract the downloaded installation package
RobotVisionSuite_Linux.tar.gzto your target location.Open the extracted folder, right-click a blank area, and choose Open in Terminal.
Run the following command and enter your password:
sudo bash install.sh
Wait for the installation to finish.
Obtain Software License
A valid software license is required to run RVS 2.0.
RVS 2.0 provides two authorization methods: Soft License (one-month trial) and USB Dongle License (long-term use).
Obtain Soft License
The soft license is suitable for short-term trial or evaluation scenarios. It requires no additional hardware, and it’s valid for one month, and renewed on the 1st of each month.

Once you have the license file, import it as follows:
Open RVS 2.0. An Authorization Notice dialog appears, saying “No valid license detected. Please download the authorization file from the official website.” Click Import License.
In the Import License window, click
and select the licensefile downloaded from the official website.Click Update, and the License Info Preview window displays “License updated successfully” along with the license validity period and remaining days.
Click OK. The software is now ready for use.
Obtain USB Dongle
The USB dongle is a long-term authorization method that verifies the license through a hardware dongle. It’s suitable for production environments or long-term use scenarios. To obtain a USB dongle license, follow the following steps:
Contact Percipio sales team or an authorized agent to purchase a RVS 2.0 USB dongle.
Insert the dongle into a USB port on your computer. You can check Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers to see whether the device is recognized successfully.
Launch RVS 2.0. If the software opens successfully, the dongle license is activated and you can now use the software.
Launch Software
Double-click the
RobotVisionSuiteicon on the desktop.When the welcome screen appears, click
New Solution.In the Solution Settings area in the lower-right corner, enter the solution name.
Click
to select the Solution Location and specify the folder where you want to save the solution.Click
Create. The software enters the home screen.
